Where do I vote on Election Day?

On Election Day, you can cast your ballot at your designated precinct voting location.

Most polling places in North Dakota are open from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm. Check with your local election officials for exact time.

Can I vote by mail?

Any registered voter in North Dakota can request an absentee ballot to vote by mail!

and returned no later than November 13th.

You can either register to vote in North Dakota or the state you're attending school in — but not both!

I'm not in the US right now, how do I vote?

If you are a military voter or a United States citizen living abroad, you should request an overseas absentee ballot.

What ID do I need to vote?

Voter ID is required to vote in North Dakota, but if you don't have acceptable ID, you can sign a form swearing your identity instead. The following forms of ID are accepted:

  • North Dakota Driver's license or photo ID
  • Tribal ID
