Who can register to vote in Nevada?
To register as a voter in Nevada, you must:
- Be a citizen of the United States
- Be a resident of Nevada for 30 days prior to the election
- Be at least 18 years old by Election Day
- Not have been officially found mentally incompetent
- Not have been convicted of a felony (unless voting rights have since been restored)

Where do I vote on Election Day?
On Election Day, you can cast your ballot at your designated precinct voting location.
To find yours, visit the Nevada Polling Place Finder.
All polling places will be open between 7:00 am and 7:00 pm.
Can I vote by mail?
Any registered voter in Nevada can request an absentee ballot to vote by mail!

Absentee ballot requests must be received by October 30th,
and returned no later than November 6th.
I'm in college away from home, which state do I vote in?
You can either register to vote in Nevada or the state you're attending school in — but not both!
I'm not in the US right now, how do I vote?
If you are a military voter or a United States citizen living abroad, you should request an overseas absentee ballot.
Can I vote before Election Day?
Yes! Skip the lines and vote early in Nevada. If you're going to be busy, out of town, or otherwise occupied on Election day, this is the best time to vote.
Early Voting period is between Saturday, October 20th and Friday, November 2nd.
What ID do I need to vote?
Voter ID is only required for first-time voters who did not provide ID with their registration. The following forms of ID are accepted:
- Current Nevada driver's license or photo ID
- U.S. Passport
- Military ID
- Student Photo ID card from a Nevada accredited institution of higher education.
- Tribal ID card
