Who can register to vote in Nebraska?
To register as a voter in Nebraska, you must:
- Be a citizen of the United States
- Be a resident of Nebraska
- Be at least 18 years old by Election Day
- Not have been officially found mentally incompetent
- Not have been convicted of a felony (unless all terms and conditions of sentence have been completed)

Where do I vote on Election Day?
On Election Day, you can cast your ballot at your designated precinct voting location.
To find yours, visit the Nebraska Polling Place Finder.
All polling places will be open between 7:00 am and 7:00 pm mountain time, and between 8:00 am and 8:00 pm central time.
Can I vote by mail?
Any registered voter in Nebraska can request an absentee ballot to vote by mail!
Absentee ballot requests must be received by October 26th,
and returned no later than November 6th.
I'm in college away from home, which state do I vote in?
You can either register to vote in Nebraska or the state you're attending school in — but not both!
I'm not in the US right now, how do I vote?
If you are a military voter or a United States citizen living abroad, you should request an overseas absentee ballot.
Can I vote before Election Day?
Yes! Skip the lines and vote early in Nebraska. If you're going to be busy, out of town, or otherwise occupied on Election day, this is the best time to vote.
Early Voting period is between Monday, October 8th and Monday, November 5th.
What ID do I need to vote?
Unless you're voting in Nebraska for the first time, you likely do not need to provide ID to vote.
If you're voting for the first time, or did not provide ID with your voter registration, you will need to provide one of the following:
- Photo ID
- Utility bill
- Bank statement
- Paycheck or paystub
- Student ID Card
- Tribal ID card
- Any government document showing your name and current address
